AUDIO
Collections of audio tracks are packaged together in zip files. Zip files can be opened (unzipped) by both PCs and Mac computers.
- Open zip files on a Windows Computer. With Windows XP or Vista, your operating system has
built-in support for Zip files. They are described as "Compressed (zipped) folders." Double-click on a Zip
file and it will open in Explorer. You will them be prompted to save the unzipped folder/collection of files. Pay
attention where you do this so you can find the files to use at a later date.
With Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT or Windows 2000 then you'll need to install a special application to open Zip files.
- Open Zip files in Mac OS X If you use an Apple Mac then you can use Stuffit to open Zip files. The free version is available here.
Single audio files and the audio files inside of zip file collections are in MP3 format, generally at 96kbps or better. These files will play on your computer with a host of free available media players, including Itunes, Winamp, Windows Media Player, and more.
